Mikhail Podoliak, Ukraine’s presidential adviser and peace negotiator, said on Saturday that any agreement with Russia could not be trusted and that Moscow could be stopped only by force.
“Any broken deal with Russia is not worth a penny,” Mr Podoliak wrote on the Telegram messaging app. “Is it possible to negotiate with a country that always lies ugly and propaganda?”
Russia and Ukraine have blamed each other since the peace talks stalled, with the latest known face-to-face talks on March 29. Lack of progress.
On Monday, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said President Vladimir Putin was the only Russian official willing to meet to discuss how to end the war.
President Putin has said that Russian forces are conducting special operations to liberate Ukraine militarily and free it from extremist anti-Russian nationalists. Ukraine and its allies say February 24 is a false excuse to invade Ukraine.
“Russia has proven that it is a barbaric country that threatens world security,” Mr Podoliak said. “A barbarian can only be stopped by force.”
