Islamabad:

Pakistani singer Shy Gill, who has been sharply criticized for mourning the death of singer Sidhu Muz Walla, has returned to online trolls, saying that since he was a Christian, he could “pray for people of different faiths”.

Shaw Gill, who rose to fame after appearing in the Coke Studio Season 14 song ‘Pashuri’ earlier this year, expressed his grief in an Instagram post following the tragic death of Sidhu Muz Waller.

“His heart is broken. May his soul rest in peace and may his family and friends have the strength to bear this loss,” Shea Gill wrote.

However, the singer was criticized for proposing Two For non-Muslims.

Posting some screenshots of the answers on her Instagram story, Ms. Gill said, “I have received many such messages. I just wanted to let everyone know that I am not a Muslim. I belong to a Christian and a Christian family. And can pray for people of different religions.”

“If you send me messages like this, you’re going to be blocked,” he said, adding that he checks his direct messages or DMs from time to time to keep in touch with his fans.

Mrs Gill said she was “sick” because people were policing her.

The Lahore-based singer said on her Instagram, “Honestly, I didn’t declare it that way but I just got sick of people believing that they could police me according to that standard.”

Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, known as Sidhu Muzwala, was shot dead by unidentified assailants who shot the singer on May 29 near his own village.
