The National Rifle Association of the United States, better known as the NRA, hosted an event over the weekend where many people, including former President Donald Trump, spoke. The timing of the event was questioned by many as it took place just days after a devastating mass shooting at an elementary school in Texas that killed 21 people.
A video of the event, however, went viral on Instagram and was viewed more than 2.3 million times. The Twitter account that posted the video is called @TheGoodLiars and it shows a man talking to Mike with NRA CEO Wayne Lapierre.

The man sarcastically tells the CEO that while people may criticize the NRA and Wayne Lapierre, they ignore his efforts to provide victims with “thoughts and prayers.”
Democrats and other anti-gun representatives have often been criticized for thinking and praying for bereaved families instead of passing legislation that could impede gun ownership of rifle bodies and Republicans.
Towards the end of the video, the man says, “The NRA, led by Wayne Lapierre, has provided thoughts and prayers for the victims and their families, and if we all think a little more and pray a little more, maybe these mass shootings will stop.” More … “I tell everyone in this room to think, to pray, to think and to pray and to pray and to pray and to think … and if we give these thoughts and these prayers enough, these masses will stop. So I want to thank Wayne Lapierre for all your thoughts and all your prayers. “
Throughout the clip Wayne Lapierre is seen sitting in his chair with confusing expressions.
