(CNN) – Unlimited shipping for a full month for just $ 9.50 – it’s a big deal at any time, but in times of rising fuel prices, car rental rockets and the global crisis of life, it becomes irresistible.
So pack your bags, because the most affordable travel destination this summer, if we’re going to transport, seems to be Germany.
The German government today approved the creation of a € 9 ($ 9.50) monthly public transport ticket. It will launch in June – just in time for summer travel.
However, local means local – so it cannot be used for long distance bus or train services. In other words, popular IC, EC and ICE trains are discounted – although you can combine long-distance travel with regional transport covered by the pass. RE marked trains are regional, so part 6 of the package
The agreement will run for June, July and August as part of a government energy relief package that encourages people to use public transport to get around this summer. The government has pumped € 2.5 billion ($ 2.6 billion) into the project. Each pass will be valid for each calendar month – so if you purchased yours on the 14th, you can use it only at the end of the month.
But even though it is designed for locals, tourists can also buy the pass.
The only catch? With this pass you will not be able to reserve a seat. But at this price, you will probably happily climb the roof.
