Contact list of cut staff in Clarner CEO Post LinkedIn Post

Sebastian Siemiatkowski, 40, wrote on LinkedIn that he “has mixed feelings about this document.”

The CEO of Klarna Bank AB has polarized opinions on social media after posting a contact list of former employees recently fired by a Swedish company as part of a campaign to cut costs.

Sebastian Siemiatkowski, 40, wrote on LinkedIn that he had “mixed feelings about this document” because it reflected both the skills of the outgoing Clarna staff and a “very difficult decision that deeply saddened me”.

Those whose names are on the list have voluntarily signed up for it and it was created by an employee at the company, a spokesman for Clarner said.

The response to the CEO’s post ranged from anger at his “tone def” content to praise for attracting employers’ attention. Finansforbundet, the largest trade union in Sweden’s financial industry, told Bloomberg that they had asked Clarna to discuss posting the list.

The union said in a statement that it had not been consulted about the job cuts and would not “read about the process in the media and the information expected from the company at an early stage”. Comments

A Clarner spokesman said the company “did not give a notice of dismissal, and therefore is not obliged to notify the unions, but expects to reach an agreement with the employees concerned. If there is any redundancy, it will be governed by law and regulations.”
