In a gruesome incident, a man named Zulfiqar Jiskani of Pakistan’s Lucky Shah Sadar area was arrested on Friday for killing his wife Babli Jiskani for resisting an attempt to marry their underage daughter for a hefty price.
The victim’s brother, Munawar Jiskani, told police that Zulfiqar strangled his wife to death when she objected to her husband handing over their daughter Humera to a man for marriage at a cost of Rs 100,000.
Munawar also told police that Zulfiqar had sold his two other daughters for money. Sajid Gambhir, Station House Officer (SHO) of Chachar Police Station, said that the suspects were arrested on the basis of a complaint lodged by Munawar, brother of Babli Jiskani.
The official added that an investigation into the alleged murder would begin soon, Dawn newspaper reported.
Babli Jiskani’s body was handed over to her family members after an autopsy at Sehwan Hospital.
